Tackle the 45-metre-high stairway after dark.

Nestled in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, AlUla is an emerging tourist destination that blends ancient wonders with modern experiences. There are plenty of reasons to visit AlUla, including UNESCO World Heritage sites and historical palaces. Now, you can add one more to your list. If you can handle heights, then this one’s for you.

The AlUla Stairway is the first-of-its-kind in the region and sees a ladder suspended 45 metres in the air. Adventure seekers will be excited to tackle the attraction, which is located in the site’s Adventure Hub. AlUla Stairway offers a unique way to experience the historic landscape. The experience starts with a climb up the suspended ladder stairway, and a 150-metre zipline back down to the valley floor.

AlUla Stairway

From 26 September to 5 October, participants can enjoy the experience at night as part of the AlUla Skies Festival. AlUla Stairway sessions last one and a half hours and are available to visitors aged eight years or older, who are at least 110 centimetres tall and weigh between 20kg and 100kg. Visitors must wear comfortable clothing, including walking shoes or boots.

AlUla Skies Festival allows visitors to experience the wonders of AlUla in a unique way. The hot air balloons create an Insta-worthy experience, as up to 60 balloons can take off at once. Visitors can choose between a tethered flight, which floats straight up, or an untethered flight, which drifts into the sky.

AlUla is home to thousands of years’ worth of history, which visitors can experience with an air of exclusivity. The UNESCO World Heritage sites, ruins and rock art are just some of the gems. AlUla is also famous for welcoming big-name acts. In the last year, Maraya concert hall has hosted Alicia Keys, Andrea Bocelli, John Legend, Lauryn Hill and Usher.

See you up there.
