The Japanese restaurant opens on 15 November.

Put your hands together. Clap, the award-winning Japanese restaurant, has launched a pop-up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Opening as part of Riyadh Season, it runs from 15 November to 30 December.

Clap was born in Beirut and can be found in Dubai, where it has gained plenty of fans. Clap in Riyadh will be the brand’s third Middle East opening, allowing the kingdom to experience the dining destination.

Clap’s restaurants across the world are known for having iconic rooftop locations, and the Riyadh venue will be no different. A place to see and be seen, Clap in Riyadh is located in Majdoul Tower and offers panoramic views of the city.

In keeping with the Japanese spirit, the décor has been created by Japanese designer, Noriyoshi Muramatsu. The restaurant is home to an open kitchen, open-air terrace and lounge, which has been designed in a contemporary chic way. Plus, it draws inspiration from Tokyo’s nightlife, and will welcome a weekly line-up of local and international DJs.

Clap is famous for serving top-quality Japanese cuisine, and offers dishes ranging from sushi to sashimi. At Clap in Riyadh, small plates include rock shrimp, mains include black cod, and desserts include a matcha cheesecake with yoghurt sorbet and raspberry seeds. Plus, mocktails range from Shinsenna with passion fruit, rectified pomegranate juice, yuzu and matcha salt, to the Sakura Glory with plum compote, jasmine, tonka bean and citrus.
