Enjoy special events at the historical birthplace of Saudi Arabia.
Night owls, this one’s for you. Diriyah Nights gives you a rare chance to experience the historical sight in a unique way. Bringing together cafés, concerts and culture, it is currently underway and runs until 22 February.
Saudi Arabia’s major festivals include Diriyah Season, Jeddah Season and Riyadh Season. Diriyah Nights is part of Diriyah Season, which showcases international sports and entertainment events. During Diriyah Nights, visitors can catch Arab singers in concert, shop for famous brands, and visit fine dining restaurants and cafés. The restaurants include Greek eats at Okto, Middle Eastern food at Shababik, traditional Saudi dishes at Tawlat Fayza, and Japanese cuisine at Yokari.
Diriyah Season also includes the EA Sports Supercup on 18 January, ABB FIA Formula E World Championships – Diriyah E-Prix from 27 to 28 January, and Supercopa De Espana 2023 from 11 to 15 January.
Located approximately 14 minutes north of Riyadh, Diriyah is famous for being the original capital of Saudi Arabia, as it was once the seat of power for the Al Saud family. During the 18th and 19th century, it was home to the founder of the first Saudi state, Mohammed bin Saud.
Today, this Saudi Arabian megaproject combines the past with the future. The area is being transformed into a buzzing tourist destination, and is currently in its first phase of construction. Diriyah is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, At-Turaif, and the recently opened dining destination, Bujairi Terrace. The dining enclave includes 20 premium restaurants encompassing world-class global brands and local Saudi-owned concepts. Upon completion, Diriyah aims to attract 100,000 residents and 25 million visitors annually.
Diriyah Nights runs from Sunday to Thursday from 5pm to 2am, and Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 2am. On 27 and 28 January, it is open from 11pm to 4am. Culture awaits.
