The show was part of the inaugural Diriyah Arts and Fashion Exhibition.
Bujairi Terrace is one of the most stylish places in Riyadh. To prove the point, it hosted a fashion show by the Saudi designer, Abdulrahman Al-Romaizan, and his label, RAMZEN. FACT nabbed a front-row seat to the inaugural edition of the Diriyah Arts and Fashion Exhibition, and were impressed by his collection that was inspired by Diriyah.
The Bujairi Terrace show took place on 12 October in a spectacular setting, which overlooked the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif, and the Wadi Hanifah. RAMZEN’s collection showcased evening wear for men and women. The items were a homage to Diriyah, and drew inspiration from art, culture and history. Plus, it represented the shared vision to promote local talent and position Saudi Arabia as a fashion hub.
Abdulrahman was born in Saudi Arabia, raised in Milan and studied in the United States. He comes from a family that is famous for its jewellery business. His clothes are refined yet rebellious, and push the boundaries in terms of design. In 2021 he created a Saudi Capsule Collection, and he recently launched a pop-up boutique in Riyadh, which was visited by supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Diriyah is famous for being the original capital of Saudi Arabia, as it was once the seat of power for the Al Saud family. During the 18th and 19th centuries, it became a politically important site and was home to the founder of the first Saudi state, Mohammed bin Saud. In 2010, At-Turaif Historical District became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and holds one of the largest mud brick districts in the world.
