Saudi, start your engines. Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is returning to Jeddah from 17 to 19 March 2023. We are buzzing, as this is the motorsports third visit to the world’s fastest and longest street circuit, Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
The Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah returns early in the season, and will be the second race on the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar. Jeddah Corniche Circuit boasts views of the Red Sea coast and an average speed of up to 252km/h.
Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has put Jeddah on the map in the sports world, as it has attracted the biggest motorsport stars in the world. Saudi Arabia hosted its first Formula 1 event in December 2021, and its second in March 2022.
In 2021, it welcomed seven-time World Champion and British racer, Lewis Hamilton, and Belgian Dutch racer, Max Verstappen. In 2022, Monacan Charles Leclerc and Max’s high-speed race bought plenty of drama to the event, as Max overtook Charles with three laps to go.
Saudi Arabia is no stranger to hosting world-class sports events. King Abdullah Sports City Arena in Jeddah has been the venue for events across football, WWE and boxing. In August 2022, the stadium was home to Rage on the Red Sea, the much-anticipated boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.
There are plenty of exciting sports events in Saudi Arabia to look forward to this year. The first-ever Neom Beach Games 2022 takes place from 19 October until 9 December, and it welcomes athletes from more than 25 countries, as they take part in sporting challenges. The inaugural Saudi Games 2022 takes place in Riyadh from 27 October to 7 November, and celebrates sporting talent across the country.
