With beige tones and boujee vibes, the hip hotel is home to a rooftop bar, pool and views.
There’s one in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, London, Miami, New York, and now, Jeddah. We’re talking about the uber-trendy EDITION Hotels. The Jeddah EDITION marks the brand’s debut in Saudi Arabia and is located on the Jeddah Corniche, right next to the Yacht Club & Marina and F1 racetrack.
Designed to resemble a yacht, the driveway leading up to The Jeddah EDITION is reminiscent of its counterparts in the UAE. A cantilever with hints of brown and lush greenery welcomes you, setting the stage for what awaits behind the doors. Inside, the lobby instantly impresses with an orange art feature hanging from the ceiling. Behind this art piece is the signature EDITION beige oak wood walls, designed like panels that serve both aesthetics and functionality, covering two of the four floors of the hotel. From the lobby, you can catch glimpses of the blue waters of the Red Sea.
The brand is a partnership between Ian Schrager and Marriott International. EDITION Hotels prides itself on being a microcosm of a city, and the focus is on creating a personalised experience. So, a hotel that does not act like a hotel, which is a destination for locals as well as international visitors. The Jeddah EDITION boasts 63 rooms, including 11 suites and penthouses, all with balconies.
Lavish Living
FACT checked into one of their Deluxe King Sea View Rooms. Upon entering, we were entranced by the room’s all-beige aesthetic, which exuded simplicity and elegance. The room’s decor is minimal, allowing the design to take centre stage. An LED TV sits above a large beige table that doubles as a console and work desk, accompanied by a cushioned chair.
The bed, with a grey throw, breaks the monotony of beige. Side tables are mounted on the walls, with smaller black lamps hanging from the headboard. A beige sofa with a footrest and a ceramic table occupies the space next to the balcony, with a lamp casting an ethereal glow. A small black-and-white painting behind the sofa adds a touch of old Jeddah to the modern room.
Moving further, the balcony offers views of the sea and the Jeddah Yacht Club, with yachts often seen setting off into the sea. With beige tones and the blue waters ahead, each element of the room and the views from it shine through.
The room features ample wardrobe space and an enclosed minibar so as not to disrupt the Pinterest-like aesthetics of the room. To the left lies a compact but functional bathroom with frosted glass doors enclosing the shower and toilet areas. The Le Labo toiletries, made specifically for EDITION hotels, added a touch of luxury.
Dining Delights
Beyond accommodation, The Jeddah EDITION features several dining concepts. The Maritime restaurant, the hotel’s all-day dining option, offers indoor and outdoor seating with views of the sunset and sea. The open kitchen prepares meals tailored to your needs. Currently, the special Jeddah Season menu at Maritime is a popular choice for guests.
Opposite Maritime is The Lobby Lounge, with indoor and outdoor seating. This well-lit space, basking in the sunshine, offers a variety of beverages and sweet and savoury treats, along with games like backgammon, chess, and snooker.
Between these two dining areas are plush sofas, perfect for soaking up the sunlight streaming through the doors that lead to the Promenade and Jeddah Yacht Club. But that’s not all. The Den, tucked away in a hidden corner, is a cigar lounge serving mocktails, ideal for relaxing with friends — away from the city’s hustle and bustle.
Functional Facilities
On the rooftop is The Jeddah EDITION’s pool, which is relatively quiet during the weekdays. With cabanas offering respite from the sun, and a pool bar serving drinks and light bites, this sleek spot ensures a good time for all.
While a fitness centre is also located on the property and is open 24 hours, the spa is currently going through some last-minute finishes. Once completed, this will feature three treatment rooms — for men, women and couples.
Nestled away from the chaos of the city, The Jeddah EDITION offers a serene and relaxing stay. The blend of modern design and local touches, paired with views of the Red Sea, made for a superb stay. So if you’re seeking a sophisticated escape that balances relaxation and excitement, the memories of The Jeddah EDITION promise to linger long after you’ve left.
