The spectacular sports event takes place in Jeddah.

It’s all kicking off in Saudi Arabia. FIFA Club World Cup is coming to Jeddah and runs from 12 to 22 December. The opening ceremony takes place on 12 December, and includes the American rapper Busta Rhymes and Swedish supergroup Swedish House Mafia. 

The FIFA Club World Cup opening ceremony is being held in the Al Ittihad Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City. Plus, both of the acts are no strangers to the region or Saudi Arabia.

Busta Ryhmes, hails from New York, United States. In 1986, he formed the group Leaders of the New School and went onto appear as a guest rapper on songs. In 1996, he released his debut solo album, The Coming. Over his career, he has released ten solo albums. He has collaborated with Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey and Lil Wayne. He is known for his fast-rapping style and his hits include Gimme Some More, I Know What You Want and Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See. 

Swedish House Mafia was formed in 2008, and the members include Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. Famous for their EDM house music, they are regulars in the region. Over their career, they have worked with Pharrell Williams, Tinie Tempah and The Weeknd. Their hit singles include Don’t You Worry Child, Lifetime and Moth To A Flame.

FIFA Club World Cup brings the beautiful game to the Kingdom. The event was created in 2000 and Saudi Arabia is the sixth country to host the competition. Saudi Arabia’s Sports Minister, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal, shared: “We are honoured and extremely excited to be given the opportunity to welcome the world’s leading football clubs and their fans to Saudi Arabia.”
