Jeddah has been welcoming restaurants from around the world. Now, Basma Elkhereiji’s The Good Butcher has opened in the city. The concept prides itself on showcasing meat, from premium to traceable cuts. So, if you’re a meat lover, here’s what you need to know. 

The Good Butcher in Jeddah has taken over the site previously occupied by Nobu on the Jeddah Corniche. On Instagram, the team shared a video of the venue being constructed. The post stated: “The Good Butcher is getting ready to bring you great food, a beautiful view, and an amazing space.”

At the heart of The Good Butcher menu’s is meat, glorious meat, but there are options for non-meat eaters. The menu spans salads, appetisers, vegetables, mains, sides and sauces. 

Starters include a Beef Carpaccio, Classic Beef Tartare and Fried Zucchini. Salads include a Beetroot Salad, Grilled Caesar Salad, and Panzanella Salad. Vegetables include Broccolini with Romesco Sauce, Roasted Baby Carrots, and Truffle Artichokes. 

Mains include a Crispy Chicken Burger with breaded chicken breast, S & L Mac and Cheese with crispy panko, The Good Chicken with slow-roasted chicken, The Good Wagyu Burger with Australian Wagyu beef, and Wagyu Tenderloin with Café De Paris. 

Basma hails from Saudi Arabia. She is a chef and food entrepreneur. She is the driving force behind a range of restaurants, which include The Social Bakery and The Social Kitchen. She also opened the Greek restaurant, Alieia, and Middle Eastern private member’s club, Khalila. Plus, she is behind the consulting and marketing management firm, ACL.

The Good Butcher in Jeddah is open daily from 5pm to 10.30pm.
