Waking up next to history in Jeddah has gotten a whole lot easier. Saudi Arabia unveiled its homegrown initiative to create 34 heritage hotels in Al Balad. Now, three of Jeddah’s heritage hotels have announced that they are accepting reservations.

The three heritage hotels include Beit Al Rayess, Beit Kedwan and Beit Jokhdar. Al Balad Development Company have worked on hotels which preserve the historical architectural features while introducing modern amenities. Each hotel combines history with hospitality and is located on the happening yet historic streets of Jeddah. 

Jeddah's heritage hotels

Beit Al Rayes is a boutique hotel with six rooms and suites. The rooms overlook a pretty courtyard surrounded by columns with stone arches. Beit Kedwan is near Naseef Square in the Al Alawi Market, and is more exclusive with only two rooms. Beit Jokhdar boasts nine rooms and suites, and ornately decorated wooden balconies.

Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al Issa, Director General of the Jeddah Historic District Program, explained: “As part of our efforts to provide an exceptional experience for our visitors in a destination that has been and will always be on the map of hospitality, we are pleased today to complete the restoration of some heritage buildings to be an ideal hotel accommodation for our guests. This is just the beginning of a larger cooperation aimed at providing a diverse hospitality experience.”

Jeddah's heritage hotels

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture has signed up Al Balad Development Company to operate Jeddah’s heritage hotels which are all located in the Jeddah Historic District in Al Balad. The area is already a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the aim is to attract tourists and create a cultural experience for visitors.
