The exhibition will bring Claude Monet’s artworks to life.
Art lovers, this one’s for you. A world-renowned art exhibition — having toured cities such as Los Angeles, London, and many more, it’s now making its Middle East. Debuting in Jeddah, Imagine Monet kicks off today and will be running until 28 July. This exhibition – part of Jeddah Season 2024 – promises to be a visual spectacle for all.
Taking place at Jeddah Corniche, Imagine Monet takes you into the world of Claude Monet. The exhibition brings over 200 of Monet’s most iconic paintings to life — almost literally. Using 360-degree projections on walls and floors, the exhibition uses state-of-the-art Image Totale technology to create a dreamlike atmosphere.
Here, you’ll get to see Monet’s famous painting, Impression, Sunrise which will take you on a visual journey through his most celebrated works. This will be followed by the Water Lilies series. Elsewhere, the “discovery room” provides an educational introduction to Monet’s life and artistic journey, making it perfect for all ages.
Imagine Monet is the brainchild of French directors Annabelle Mauger and Julien Baron, who have been leading the world of digital immersive exhibitions. The duo turns classic art into all-encompassing experiences. The world’s first immersive exhibition dedicated to Van Gogh in 2008 was backed by Annabelle and Julilen, and now, they’re bringing their expertise to Jeddah.
As for Claude Monet, he was a renowned figure in the Impressionist movement. His approach to capturing light and colour in paintings revolutionised the art world. His work features serene landscapes, gardens, and scenes of everyday life. He loved painting the outdoors, which allowed him to capture the changing effects of light and weather.
