The first video of Neom’s development has been released – and we’re excited.
We can’t wait for Saudi Arabia’s megaprojects to come to life. So, we were buzzing to see the first video of Neom’s progress, which reveals the building phase of the development. Plus, it unveils the first destination, Sindalah, which is due to open in 2024.
Neom is one of Saudi Arabia’s most impressive megaprojects. Saudi Arabian megaprojects don’t get more sci-fi than Neom. The site will be the size of Belgium and sits north of the Red Sea coastline. Plus, it plans to have flying taxis, a fake moon and glow-in-the-dark beaches.
The video is the first in a series being released, which update the world on Neom’s progress. The video features Sindalah’s beaches and seas; Trojena’s mountainous slopes; The Line, a 170km-long residential complex; and Oxagon, which aims to be the world’s largest floating industrial complex.
Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO at Neom, shares: “If we are to solve the challenges of tomorrow, we must face up to them today, no matter how difficult they may seem. At Neom, we are addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing humanity by bringing together a community of the brightest minds committed to reimagining what a sustainable future will look like in 20 to 30 years, and building it today. We are redefining the future now. Neom is open for business.”
Upcoming events at Neom include the Asian Winter Games 2029 in Trojena, which aims to put the super city on the international map. Trojena boasts slope residences overlooking a lake, a ski village sitting 2,400 metres high, and temperatures are 10 degrees Celsius cooler. Trojena is expected to be completed by 2026.
Neom, we are impressed.
