Hop on board and experience history.
Picture yourself on a train, gliding through the Arabian landscape, passing by lush oases, ancient historical sites, and the beautiful desert. You’ll soon get to experience this calmness as the AlUla Train, a project that promises to revolutionise the way we experience the beauty of the region, is set to take Saudi Arabia by storm.
The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) in partnership with Alstom, a heavyweight in sustainable transport, is set to bring the AlUla Train to life. The project is a 22.4-km-long marvel that boasts 17 stations that will deploy 20 trains. Scheduled for launch in 2027 — aligning perfectly with Saudi Vision 2030 — this initiative is all about offering a unique and immersive experience that showcases the rich heritage, culture and natural beauty of the region.
The AlUla Train isn’t just about getting from point A to point B. It offers deluxe tours that encompass the most prominent facets of the region — from its lush oases to its breathtaking desert landscapes.
One of the core objectives of the project is sustainability in transportation. It’s no secret that road congestion and noise pollution can detract from the beauty of any landscape. The AlUla Train aims to address these issues head-on, seeking to enhance the overall transportation system in the region.
Plus, the trains involved in the AlUla Train Project will be powered by sustainable electricity. This not only reduces carbon emissions but also ensures a quieter, more peaceful journey through AlUla. These eco-friendly trains will connect various heritage sites, creating a tourism experience that highlights the breathtaking natural landscape of the region.
So, whether you’re an intrepid explorer, a history buff, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of the desert, keep an eye out for the AlUla Train project.
