This is the latest stadium to be announced in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia’s sports scene is currently at an all-time high. With new stadium announcements, the Kingdom is ensuring that no stone is left unturned when it comes to preparing for the upcoming 2034 FIFA World Cup. And now, the Aramco Stadium has been announced for construction in Al Khobar.
Backed by ROSHN and Aramco, the Aramco Stadium will be located in Al Khobar. With a seating capacity of 47,000 spectators, it’s expected to play host to several local and international games.
The Aramco Stadium’s design takes inspiration from the coastal region it’s located in, mimicking a whirlpool-like complex. Keeping sustainability in mind, this architectural approach not only ensures that the stadium stands out aesthetically but also aligns with the venue’s multifunctional purpose. Moreover, it will also feature state-of-the-art amenities, providing a top-notch experience for spectators and players alike. Whether it’s a football match or any other entertainment event, Aramco Stadium promises tons of action in Al Khobar.
Scheduled to be completed and operational by 2026, the Aramco Stadium will host its first match in 2027, which will be the AFC Asian Cup. And in 2034, it’ll gear up for the FIFA World Cup. Other events and matches are expected to take place at the stadium between these games as well.
Aramco Stadium is the latest in a series of stadium announcements that are reshaping the sporting landscape of Saudi Arabia. From the ROSHN Stadium in Riyadh to the King Salman Stadium, the Kingdom has plans to develop one stadium after another, establishing itself as a global sports hub.
