This historic region is all set to blend the Kingdom’s rich heritage with modern glamour.
Saudi Arabia’s drive to redefine its landscape is showing no signs of slowing down. With the Kingdom transforming at a fast pace, Diriyah is one destination that’s gearing up to be the next hip spot. With many hotels announced for the area, it’s now all set to house two new cultural districts: Qurain Cultural District and the Northern District.
The Qurain Cultural District and the Northern District are set to become global centres of creativity, knowledge, and learning, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s rich heritage while embracing modernity.
The Qurain Cultural District will blend culture with contemporary urban living. It will feature arts, retail, dining and office spaces along with residences. These will include a state-of-the-art cinema, museums, academies for culinary arts, performing arts and much more. Within this district will be The Ritz-Carlton Diriyah, featuring over 300 units, and Address Diriyah, offering more than 200 keys.
The Northern District will cater to those with a passion for learning and innovation. This area is set to become a hub for scholars, students, and visionaries from around the world and will include the King Salman Foundation, museums, a public library, a university and a public square to inspire community and interaction. Adding a touch of luxury to the district is Capella Diriyah, a 100-room luxury hotel that marks the group’s Middle East debut.
Diriyah, on the outskirts of Riyadh, is a historic destination in Saudi Arabia as it is the birthplace of the Kingdom. Now, it’s emerging as a historical, cultural, and lifestyle destination and currently also houses Bujairi Terrace. With the Qurain Cultural District and the Northern District, it is poised to attract global attention.
Details of when these districts at Diriyah will open to the public are still under wraps but stay tuned to FACT for all the insights.
