Lionel Messi shares snaps from his family holiday in Saudi Arabia

The legendary footballer shared his love of the Kingdom on social media.

Legendary footballer and Saudi Arabian Tourism Ambassador, Lionel Messi, loves the Kingdom. So much so, he has been spotted in the country many times. Now, he has shared some family holiday snaps on social media, which aim to attract visitors to the country.

Messi shared: “The best thing about holidays is spending quality time with our loved ones. Flashback to my visit to Riyadh, playing local games and making crafts with the warmest Saudi people. If you are still planning your holidays, head to the cool mountains of Aseer and chill at 17 degrees Celsius.”

On the visit, Messi and his family explored the historical site of At-Turaif, Riyadh Boulevard, the Arabian Horse Museum, and dined at Via Riyadh. They visited a farm, had a traditional Saudi breakfast, learned how to play Carrom, and discovered the art of palm weaving. Plus, Messi’s wife Antonella Roccuzzo even wore a traditional Saudi hama.

Messi’s images have been taken from his family trip in May 2023. Plus, he shared shots of the Aseer region, which is currently hosting Aseer Season 2023. The area boasts mountains, forests and, most importantly, cooler temperatures.

Saudi Arabia aims to showcase its natural and cultural treasures to both international and domestic tourists as part of its Vision 2030. The football icon was named an ambassador in May 2022, and he has been promoting the country as a top tourist destination.
