This futuristic city is poised to redefine living.

Saudi Arabia’s Neom is racing toward the future. At its core lies The Line, which is shaping up to become the centre of the futuristic megaproject. While The Line’s architectural plans have already wowed the world, more exciting details about its innovative design have been unveiled.

The Line is expected to look like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. Delugan Meissl Associate Architects (DMAA), also behind the Bonsai Museum of China, has gotten on board to help with phase one of the development. Gensler, who designed the first-ever Apple Store, and Mott MacDonald, the brains behind the London Underground, also form part of the unit shaping Neom’s The Line to be the next big thing.

The Line

Instead of the traditional idea of cities growing outwards, The Line is all about building upward. This will create a stacked ecosystem where homes, schools, offices, and green spaces are all within easy reach. This approach not only saves space but also speeds up commuting and correspondence within the city and helps keep the space clean and green.

The Line is touted as a meticulously thought-out ecosystem. By collaborating with microclimate experts, ecologists, and sustainability leaders, it’s bringing nature into every facet of its existence. In doing this, every inch of the city is expected to serve a purpose, blending human needs with environmental aspects, making it a truly functional complex.

The Line

Transport hubs will be designed for seamless mobility within The Line. Since there are going to be no roads, this is going to be the primary mode of travel that’s setting out to be simple yet revolutionary. Apart from design and conveyance systems, The Line will also follow zoning policies for the use of land. This will ensure that every part aligns with Neom’s overall vision.

By incorporating the latest design elements and getting big names from the world of development on board, The Line aims to tackle global challenges such as overpopulation, climate change, and much more, paving the way for the world to adapt to such measures soon as well.

Details of when The Line will be welcoming residents and tourists are still unclear, but with progress in full swing, the time could come sooner rather than later.
