Saudi Arabia’s tallest peak is being transformed into a luxurious mountain getaway
Thrill-seekers and nature lovers, hold onto your hats because Saudi Arabia is unveiling a natural gem that will take your breath away. A new master plan has been launched that will transform the Soudah and Rijal Almaa regions into a luxurious mountain tourism destination known as Soudah Peaks.
This stunning retreat sits at an altitude of 3015 metres above sea level on Saudi Arabia’s highest peak, promising an extraordinary blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. With more than 627 square kilometres of breathtaking natural beauty, Soudah Peaks is committed to preserving its environment, blending contemporary architecture with authentic regional design. Less than one per cent of the land will be acquired for building, a clear sign of Soudah Development’s dedication to sustainability.

Soudah Peaks will comprise six distinct development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock. Tahlal will serve as a mixed-use district featuring upscale residential communities alongside boutique hotels and retail venues. Sahab, perched on a rolling plateau, is a clifftop destination and the central hub for sports and adventure enthusiasts. Next up is Sabrah, an exclusive luxury retreat surrounded by lush plantations, blending elegance with nature’s tranquility. Jareen offers a serene escape from urban life, encouraging a connection with nature through immersive experiences. In Rijal, you can explore the timeless charm of the region, where the past, present, and future converge, offering a culturally rich atmosphere. And finally, Red Rock, overlooking the majestic Red Rock Mountain, will be located within a picturesque national park, providing breathtaking views. Each of these zones will offer world-class amenities, including upscale hotels, mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, entertainment venues, and commercial attractions.

If you’re an adventurer at heart, you’ll find outdoor activities dedicated to sports, adventure, wellness, and culture that will satisfy your every craving. From mountain trails, hiking paths, paragliding, golf courses, horseback riding, to rock climbing, you’ll get to enjoy plenty of activities all year round.
For those seeking peace, the area features lush parks, scenic trails, local farms, spa resorts, meditation centers, and serene spaces dedicated to mindfulness and well-being. And for those who like a bit of culture in their escapades, Soudah Peaks will also offer traditional folk music, local art, and produce like honey and mountain strawberries. With over 200 documented heritage sites — including hamlets, mosques, minarets, watchtowers, and mountain forts — you’ll get an authentic glimpse of the area’s storied past.

This luxurious haven is designed to cater to over two million visitors annually by 2033. The plan involves the construction of 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square metres of commercial space within Soudah Peaks in the next 10 years. Phase one alone, slated for completion in 2027, will deliver 940 hotel keys, 391 residential units, and 32,000 square metres of retail space.
Not only will this new destination attract visitors, but its development also aligns seamlessly with Vision 2030 — contributing significantly to the Kingdom’s GDP.
Soudah Peaks is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s vision for a thriving future. It’s a harmonious blend of luxury, culture, and nature that will leave you awe-struck. So pack your bags and prepare for an unforgettable adventure to experience Soudah Peaks — a treasure nestled high above the clouds.
