The exhibition starts on 3 February.
Pablo Picasso’s artwork has been shown across the world. Now, he is making his debut in Saudi Arabia with the exhibition, Imagine Picasso. Running from 3 February to 3 March, the exhibition takes place at Laysen Valley.
Imagine Picasso is an immersive experience, which has toured the world and been in Madrid, San Francisco and Zurich. The exhibition brings together more than 200 works, which give an insight into the artist’s world. The work spans from his Blue and Rose period to pieces from the Cubist and Surrealist movements. The Blue Period includes some of his most popular works, which convey a deep sense of depression.
For Imagine Picasso, the curators have used state-of-the-art technology, large-scale projections, lighting techniques and a special soundtrack to make you feel like you are stepping into a magical masterpiece. Rudy Ricciotti and Annabelle Mauger have also created origami-shaped statues, which are scattered throughout the space.
Curator Androula Michael explains: “Educational in substance and moving in form, this exhibition is a way of looking at art with new eyes, said specialising in the work of Picasso. The aim of this immersive exhibition, accessible to all, regardless of age, language, and culture, is to open the space to emotions, dreams and contemplation for everyone, even the youngest visitors.”
Imagine Picasso has sourced pieces from around the world, including Musee Picasso in Paris, Museu Picasso in Barcelona, and MoMA in New York. Plus, there are pieces that have come from private collections.
Tickets to Imagine Picasso are available now and start from SAR 50.
