Ushering in a new era of cultural preservation, the project was announced by Princess Sara bint Mashhour bin Abdulaziz.

Saudi Arabia is transforming. While embracing modernisation, it’s also ensuring that its rich history and cultural legacy continue to shine through. And to do just that, the Kingdom has announced the launch of the Misk Heritage Museum.

Set to open in Asaan in Diriyah, Misk Heritage Museum aims to become a global hub for celebrating Saudi heritage. Its location within historic Diriyah — the birthplace of Saudi Arabia — makes it a prime location to highlight the Kingdom’s history.

The museum will span over 40,000 square meters and features an innovative design by Zaha Hadid Architects. Blending traditional Najdi architecture with contemporary flair, the structure will serve as both a tribute to the past and a nod to the future.

The Misk Heritage Museum will be a cultural hub dedicated to preserving and celebrating Saudi Arabia’s rich and diverse heritage. Featuring artefacts and collectables, the museum will offer interactive exhibitions and spaces, art galleries and an arts courtyard. Asaan’s Majlis, within the confines of the museum, will serve as a space for dialogue, workshops, and idea-sharing focused on reviving heritage. With labs, learning programs, and global collaborations, the Misk Heritage Museum aims to ensure cultural preservation that’s also relevant for future generations.

With its world-class design, exhibitions, and dedication to cultural preservation, Misk Heritage Museum will stand as a beacon of Saudi heritage, ensuring that the Kingdom’s rich history continues to inspire generations to come.
