The esports festival is taking place this summer in Riyadh.
It’s only fitting that the world’s biggest esports festival welcomes the world’s biggest stars. Gamers8 is taking place in Riyadh and welcomes international as well as local acts. Taking place at Boulevard Riyadh City from 6 July to 31 August, rock band Imagine Dragons and rapper Macklemore will join the Gamers8 concerts line-up.
Macklemore will perform on 14 July. He is from Seattle, United States and started his career in 2000. He first worked with the producer Ryan Lewis, and is known for the songs Can’t Hold Us, Glorious and Thrift Shop.
Imagine Dragons will perform on 28 July. The band hail from Las Vegas, United States and released their debut album in 2012. The group consists of lead singer Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman. Their hit songs include Believer, Thunder and Whatever It Takes.
It’s not just American artists coming to Gamers8, as Saudi artist Rabeh Saqer will perform on 7 July. We’re hoping he performs his songs from Ana Ahebbak to Latemanan. More names should be announced in the coming weeks. In 2022, the event hosted celebrity concerts with acts ranging from Black Eyed Peas to DJ Snake.
Organised by the Saudi Esports Federation, Gamers8 aims to tap into the gaming market and create an inclusive yet professional environment. The festival will not only highlight how gaming can add to the economy but how it can be a source of fun for everyone.
Gamers8 will focus on professional e-sports competitions, entertainment shows, and music performances, which brings together gaming and e-sports leaders from across the world. And, this year’s prize pool is $45,000,000.
