Nineties kids, unite – this is going to be larger than life.
Backstreet’s back. One of the biggest-selling boybands of all time is returning to the Kingdom. The American pop group Backstreet Boys will perform at the Diriyah E-Prix concert series on Saturday, 27 January.. Here’s what to expect from the fabulous fivesome.
Nineties kids will be buzzing with excitement, as this is your chance to see Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson. The group formed in Orlando, Florida in the early nineties. Following the release of their first album Backstreet Boys in 1996, they went on to top the charts and capture the hearts of the BSM Army.
We’re expecting them to play their greatest hits including We’ve Got It Goin’ On, Quit Playing Games (With My Heart), Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) and As Long As You Love Me. Plus, the classic I Want It That Way has been streamed more than one billion times on Spotify.
Over the group’s career, they have sold more than 100 million records worldwide. They received nine Grammy Award nominations. Plus, they have won Billboard Music Awards, Juno Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
Backstreet Boys are no strangers to the Middle East. They brought their DNA World Tour to Abu Dhabi in May 2023 and performed at the F1 Concert Zone in Jeddah the same month. The band also came to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre back in 2018, as part of the Blended Music Festival.
“Entertainment is such a huge part of our race and I’m pleased to confirm such a great line-up of acts! Since we started the race in Diriyah we have wanted to entertain fans, not only with incredible electric racing but also a Fan Village where they can enjoy various activations plus the live music concerts that keep the party going throughout the evening” said Carlo Boutagy, Founder and CEO of CBX, promoter of the Diriyah E-Prix.
Audiences will also have the opportunity to witness the Egyptian rock band Cairokee live on stage. The band is known for its revolutionary musical repertoire, including songs like El Seka Shemal Fe Shemal, Layla and Samurai.” Dutch DJ Afrojack will conclude the event as the third act. We’re hoping he plays his famous numbers including Ten Feet Tall, Turn up the Speaker and Unstoppable.
Backstreet Boys, Cairokee and Afrojack are the latest additions to the Diriyah E-Prix concert lineup. Earlier this week it was announced that Alesso, Nancy Ajram and OneRepublic will perform on Friday, 26 January.
Tickets are available now. So buckle up and prepare for a wild weekend of racing and concerts, because Saudi Arabia knows how to throw a party.
