We’ve got some news that will put a smile on your face. Saudi Arabia is hosting the comedy festival, Riyadh Laughs. The stand-up show takes place at Boulevard Riyadh City’s Muvi Cinema and brings together established as well as emerging talent in the Kingdom and beyond.

Riyadh Laughs is a weekly event, and the comedians perform in Arabic and English. Running until 11 November, the shows take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The full line-up has not yet been announced.

So far, we know that the line-up includes Barakat Al-Asiri, Lama Al-Fard, Twab Adly, Shaker Al-Shareef and Ziyad Saleh. On 28 July and 29 July, there are English language shows with Dana Alexander, Ken Garr and Julian Dean.  

Saudi comedian Barakat Al-Asiri has previously performed at the Stand-up Comedy Festival at Riyadh’s King Fahd Cultural Centre. Lama Al-Fard has been a comedian since 2011 and was part of the Sand Up Comedy tour, which saw Saudi Arabian comedians tour the United States. Plus, Twab Adly is a regular on the region’s comedy scene and has more than 69,000 followers on Instagram and 265,000 followers on TikTok.

Located in Hittin, Boulevard Riyadh City includes cafés and restaurants. The Muvi Cinema is one of the largest cinemas in Saudi Arabia. The cinema is home to a screen with more than 400 seats, and provides VIP experiences, from special events to special menus.
