The world-renowned chef brings his MICHELIN magic to the Saudi capital.

After seeing success in Dubai, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore, and Toronto, celebrity chef Akira Back is bringing his self-named concept to Riyadh. Located at 1364 in the Diplomatic Quarter, Akira Back Riyadh will offer a modern atmosphere, world-class cuisine, and impeccable service.

The menu at Akira Back Riyadh will showcase Chef Akira’s Japanese cuisine imbued with a Korean essence, where premium ingredients are combined with seasonal produce to ensure dishes are characterised by nuanced flavours and intricate presentation. The menu at Akira Back Riyadh will likely follow its global counterparts, offering an appealing selection of salads, sushi and larger plates. We hope to see some FACT favourites such as AB Tacos, Korean Fried Chicken, Tuna Pizza, and Yellowtail Jalapeño make it onto the menu.

Akira Back Riyadh

Akira Back’s signature restaurant combines Japanese and Korean food. Born in Seoul and raised in the mountains of Aspen, chef Akira began his career shredding slopes on the snowboarding circuit. But life took a twist after he joined a local Japanese restaurant to make ends meet and the kitchen became his new thrill.

With over 20 restaurants across the globe, including exotic locals such as Las Vegas, Marrakech and Singapore, the Saudi capital is lucky to have its own branch of Akira Back, which will open on Saturday, 28 September.

Chef Akira Back Riyadh

This is not Chef Akira Back’s first opening in the Saudi capital. The snowboarder-turned-restauranteur has also opened Namu Korean BBQ and the now-defunct Dasha at The Esplanade. Following Akira Back Riyadh, AB Steak will also open in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, offering a Korean-inspired steakhouse experience specialising in dry-aged premium meat for up to 30 days.
