French pastry chef Yann Couvreur brings pretty pastries to Riyadh

The decadent desserts include chocolates, eclairs and viennoiserie.

If you have a sweet tooth, then here is some tasty news. The French pastry chef, Yann Couvreur, has opened a dreamy dessert destination in Riyadh. Yann Couvreur Pâtisserie is located at Centria Mall in Al Olaya, and boasts pretty pastries.

Yann Couvreur Pâtisserie draws its inspiration from traditional Parisian pastries. Yann started his career in Paris, and trained at the Tecomah training centre in Jouy-en-Josas. He previously worked at Le Trianon Palace and Gérard Vié in Versailles. He has also created pastries for the world-famous Orient-Express train.

In 2016, Yann opened his first pastry shop in Paris. Today, he has several pastry shops in Paris, and has a popular following. The pastry shops can also be found across the world in Dubai, Korea and Miami. 

Yann Couvreur Pâtisserie can already be found in the UAE in The Dubai Mall and World Trade Center. If the existing branches are any indication, Riyadh is in for a real treat. The pastries combine classic cooking techniques with a modern sensibility. The offerings span chocolates, épicerie, pastries and viennoiserie. 

Previous pastries include a Chocolate Entremet, Coconut Caramel Éclair, Raspberry Cheesecake and Vanilla Flan Sliced. The cakes are carefully crafted – look out for the Valentine Cake with two chocolate fox figures, and Merveille with animal-inspired icing.

Centria Mall is home to a range of luxury beauty, jewellery and fashion shops, and high-end cafés and restaurants. The shops include Armani, Balenciaga, Givenchy and Lanvin. The restaurants range from Lusin to Yokari.

Yann Couvreur Pâtisserie in Riyadh is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
