The restaurant is now open on Takhasussi Road.

Saudi Arabia is home to world-class restaurants, from celebrity chef-fronted concepts to homegrown favourites. While international brands like Carbone, Jon & Vinny’s and Zuma have been wowing diners in Riyadh, a brand-new Thai spot from Kuwait is making its way to town. Get ready to welcome Phet Phet to Riyadh.

Located on Takhasussi Road, Phet Phet promises a true Thai dining experience. Serving bold and tangy flavours, this new spot is as OG as it gets and the space is all about keeping things simple. White-tiled walls, matching tables and chairs, and a bright, welcoming atmosphere make for a minimalist yet charming setting. The floor is covered in mosaic tiles, while vibrant artworks showcase iconic Thai sights to give the place some personality. You’ll even spot a maneki-neko —beckoning cat — on the counter, which is said to bring good luck.

The restaurant’s menu pays homage to Thai street food and home-style dishes. Kick off your meal with the likes of Chili Wontons, Green Mango Salad, Prawn Toast and Tom Yum Soup. For mains, indulge in Khao Soi Curry Noodles, Pad Krapao Beef, Red and Green Curry or Turmeric Fish, all served with your choice of rice.

Of course, no Thai meal is complete without dessert, which is the classic Sticky Mango Rice. Pair it with a selection of Thai-inspired beverages and teas like Tak Rai and Phet Loma and you’re in for a treat.

So if you’re catching up with friends and looking for a chill spot with Thai food, this new restaurant in Riyadh is the place to be.
