The world’s largest oasis will promote premium farm-based tourism.

Saudi Arabia is gearing up to welcome even more visitors with open arms. And with a surge in tourism, the hospitality sector is witnessing rapid growth, which is why Hilton is also expanding its footprint in the region. The hospitality group has announced that it will open new properties in the Kingdom’s Al Ahsa region.

Three fabulous new Hilton properties are popping up in the Al Ahsa region. These include the LXR Hotels & Resorts Agritourism Resort, a wellness oasis known as the Curio Collection by Hilton Eco Resort, and an adventure-packed haven dubbed the Curio Collection by Hilton Adventure Resort. Each property aims to create memorable experiences for all, featuring nature gardens, an amphitheatre, dining and retail options, and a farmers’ market. This holistic approach ensures that visitors can fully immerse themselves in the local culture and community while enjoying modern amenities.

These Hilton resorts are part of a 1.8 million square-metre master development aimed at creating a premium farm-based tourism destination. With lush surroundings and locally sourced produce, guests can immerse themselves in the charm of rural life while enjoying world-class hospitality at Al Ahsa.

Al-Ahsa boasts the title of the world’s largest oasis. More than 2.5 million palm trees sprawl across the region, producing over 100,000 tons of dates annually. Nicknamed “Hajar,” meaning “stone” in Arabic, due to its ancient, naturally occurring structures, Al-Ahsa boasts a rich history dating back to the Neolithic era. Al-Ahsa is also known for its historical significance. The Al-Ahsa Oasis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised for its cultural and agricultural significance.

Hilton has also announced ambitious plans to quadruple its presence in Saudi Arabia, targeting over 100 hotels across the Kingdom. These developments not only signify Hilton’s commitment to the region but also poses it to become a key destination for tourism.

Details of when these resorts will open to the public are yet to be unveiled but stay tuned at FACT for all the insights.
