Smell the roses at the record-breaking event.
Get your cameras ready. One of the world’s most beautiful festivals is coming to Saudi Arabia. Yanbu Flower Festival runs from 15 February to 9 March. So, if you’re after some family-friendly fun, here’s how to join the event.
Yanbu Flower Festival is a record-breaking event. The festival was awarded a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest flower carpet. During the festival, there are a range of programmes and workshops, which teach visitors about gardening. Experts are on hand to answer questions about the displays, and share their knowledge about horticulture.
This year’s edition looks set to be another record-breaking event. The show will include the largest flower basket in the world, and the largest display of flowers writing a word. The word pays homage to the Kingdom’s royal family, and will be the name King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The festival will host 100 events and there will be family-friendly options. Children’s events include exhibitions, face painting and storytelling. Plus, there are train rides taking people across the site, and food and drink stalls available.
Yanbu is located in the Madinah province and is near the Red Sea coast. The area is 300 kilometres northwest of Jeddah and is a major Red Sea port. During February and March, it has a milder climate, which makes it an ideal time to visit and for the Yanbu Flower Festival.
Yanbu Flower Festival is open daily from 4pm to 11pm. Tickets start from SAR 11.30.
