Saudi Arabia is brimming with marvellous megaprojects. Now, it has announced the development of Heart of Uhud. Located in the northern vicinity of the Prophet’s Mosque, it will cover 240,000 square meters and offer rejuvenation and rehabilitation. The opening date has not yet been confirmed, but here’s what we know about the development.
Heart of Uhud aims to be a centre for wellness excellence and hopes to welcome 30 million visitors locally and internationally by 2030. Created in line with Saudi Vision 2030, it will offer health as well as wellness experiences from world-class experts. The site will include hotel rooms, medical facilities, a rehabilitation centre, cafés and restaurants, all of which are focused on relaxation.
Heart of Uhud has been given a SAR 2 billion investment, and will be constructed by Almqr Development Co. Specialising in urban developments, the company’s projects also include Al Ghurrah, Aliat Mall, Emdad, King Abdulaziz Square, Rakka Commercial Complex, Sikka Project, That Nakhl. Plus, Ann Park, which is a green space spanning 114 metres square; Al Matal, which is an entertainment development in the mountains.
Madinah is the capital of the Madinah province. It is one of the oldest and most important locations in Islamic history, and home to sacred sites in Islam. The area is home to the Al Baqi Cemetery, Masjid Al Nabawi, Mount Uhud and Quba Mosque. Plus, it boasts spectacular surroundings, which include the Hejaz Mountains and dormant volcanoes.
