The Saudi Pro League 2024-2025 match schedule has been revealed

The tournament will kick off in Dammam on 22 August.

Saudi Arabia loves football. With an abundance of local talent and increasingly high-profile international players now gracing the pitch, the football scene has been elevated to new heights in the Kingdom. The Saudi Pro League has breathed new into the beautiful game and is making a grand return this year.

Kicking off on Thursday, 22 August, this edition of the Roshn Pro League (RSL), often referred to as the Saudi Pro League will unleash football fever in Saudi Arabia once again. Taking place over 34 weeks — totalling 306 match days, expect stadiums across the Kingdom to light up. From Riyadh’s Kingdom Arena and Al Awwal Stadium to Jeddah’s King Abdullah Sports City Stadium and Dammam’s Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium, football fans will be cheering for their favourite teams. However, note that in respect of Ramadan, the last days of the Holy Month will see no matches.

This year’s tournament will once again give you a chance to see Al Ahli, Al Akhdood, Al Ettifaq, Al Fateh, Al Feiha, Al Ittihad, Al Khaleej, Al Kholood, Al Nassr, Al Orobah, Al Qadsiah, Al Riyadh, Al Shabab, Al Taawoun, Al Wehda and Damac vie for the coveted title. Al Hilal, champions of the Saudi Pro League last year, is also promising to keep at it to maintain their title.

The match schedule for the first two weeks is out, with dates for the upcoming weeks to be announced soon. Additionally, this season of the tournament will introduce “magic rounds”. These special rounds will see city team derbies, where home teams clash in a bid for local bragging rights.

For those unversed in the Saudi Pro League, it was established in 2008 under the Saudi Professional League Authority and is the pinnacle of Saudi football. The league’s global appeal skyrocketed in 2023 after an influx of top-tier international talent moved to the Kingdom.
