The restaurant is located in the new dining destination, Laysen Valley.

When only fine dining Japanese food will do, make your way to Sumosan Riyadh. The award-winning restaurant is opening its first branch in Saudi Arabia on 12 August, and it will be located in Laysen Valley in the Diplomatic Quarter.

The restaurant is famous for its fusion of cuisines, as it has a contemporary take on Japanese dishes. Executive chef Bubker Belkhit is behind the menu, which covers sushi to sashimi as well as meat. We’re hoping that some of Sumosan’s classic dishes make it to Riyadh including the truffle hamachi tiradito and lobster salad.

Sumosan has restaurants across the world in Berlin, Doha, London and Montenegro. Plus, the brand plans to open a branch in Bahrain.

Across the world, Sumosan is a popular celebrity hangout and we are expecting Sumosan Riyadh to attract A-listers. Sumosan’s London branch is a hotspot for famous faces, as the likes of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Cheryl Cole and Tamara Ecclestone have been spotted at the restaurant.

Sumosan Riyadh is opening in Laysen Valley, quickly transforming into one of the capital’s must-visit dining destinations. Other upcoming venues to have on your restaurant radar include Kuwait brand, B+F; French restaurant, Bagatelle; Greek diner, Halepi; French bistro, NAC; and Italian eatery, Santini. The area contains residential buildings alongside hospitality offerings, which spans high-end shops and gourmet dining.
