How do you like to spend your weekends? Well, if the sound of superstar DJs puts a smile on your face, you’ll be pleased to hear that the music festival WEEKends is coming to Jeddah. Bringing together local talent, the festival takes place on 7 October at King Abdullah Economic City and tickets are now available.
The headline acts include Saudi’s finest: Cosmicat and Vinyl Mode. Nouf Sufyani, better known as Cosmicat, was born and raised in Jeddah. As the name suggests, she loves cosmology and cats. The Saudi female DJ and producer is famous for her electronic music, and has performed at Exit Festival and Tomorrowland. Passionate about music, she has been influential in changing stereotypes around women in the local music scene and is a regular at Saudi’s own MDLBeast Soundstorm.
Vinyl Mode – real name Mohanned Nassar – was born in Saudi Arabia, and started his career in Jeddah’s underground dance scene. The DJ has entertained crowds across the world, from Greece to Germany, with his deep house and techno music. The DJ has a big following in the Middle East, and has also performed at MDLBeast Soundstorm.
WEEKends in Jeddah boasts a cool line-up, and an impressive list of female performers. The female DJs include Dorar, who also labels herself as a cat enthusiast, Dasha Mell, and Anca & Ionela. Other acts include DJ Sobia, K.Led and DJ Rabana.
If you’re on the lookout for more music, there are concerts aplenty in the kingdom. AlUla is hosting its autumn concert series with Westlife on 28 September, Angham on 6 October, Guy Manoukian on 7 October and Souad Massi on 14 October. Riyadh welcomes MDLBeast Soundstorm from 1 to 3 December, and it’s expected to bring together world-famous DJs and homegrown talent.
Tickets for WEEKends in Jeddah are now on sale and start from SAR 270 for general admission and SAR 750 for VIP packages. The VIP tickets include food and beverage options, private parking, a dedicated viewing area and a meet and greet with the artists. All visitors must be 18 years or older.
