Discovering the beauty of Sharjah’s Hanging Gardens

Sharjah boasts an abundance of hidden treasures waiting to be discovered, and now, a captivating new addition has just opened its doors. Say hello to Sharjah’s very own Hanging Gardens in Kalba.

The grand inauguration ceremony was led by the Ruler of Sharjah, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, who also took a stroll through the lush greenery. Sprawling 1.6 million square feet, the Hanging Gardens stand tall with over 100,000 trees, reaching a height of 281 metres above sea level.

The Hanging Gardens caters to all. Adventure seekers will find thrill amidst the mountain climbing paths, divided into three levels, offering views of the agricultural land, majestic waterfalls, and vibrant flowers. For a more leisurely experience, hop aboard the excursion train, accommodating up to 55 passengers, for an 820-metre journey through the natural landscape.

But the excitement doesn’t end there. Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy a 760-metre running track, while ample amenities such as parking spaces, disabled facilities, electric vehicle charging stations, and restrooms ensure a comfortable visit for all. 

When hunger strikes, a central restaurant also offers seating for 215 people and a classic semi-circular architectural design that provides stunning views of the surroundings, including the cascading waterfalls; you get to dine with a view.

More than just a garden, this project is part of a larger vision unveiled in 2022 to enhance Sharjah’s tourism, culture, and economy. With ambitious plans underway, it’s poised to solidify its standing as a premier tourist and entertainment destination in the region.
