Six wellbeing activities to help keep you going this summer

Fact’s Soraya Jouzy is not the only one staying here in the UAE this summer. Here she rounds-up six of the best things you can do to keep your wellbeing on track while beating the soaring summer temperatures.

Silicon Cupping at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts:

For the love of silicon cupping – I mean, the wellbeing benefits are insane! I have been using face and body cups for many years and while I get instant results, it’s also very therapeutic.

The Pearl Spa Wellness UAE Collection at the Four Seasons hotels and Bellabaci has crafted an exclusive bespoke range of treatments across the wellness brand’s three spas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Promising a “Kiss of Wellness”, the cupping therapies make use of Bellabaci’s innovative silicone cups, natural aromatic oils and hand techniques to massage the skin. Perfect for both recovery and beauty purposes, the wellbeing massages enliven the skin and aid muscles through enhanced blood flow. In addition, the treatments produce significant anti-ageing effects and also treat cellulite and help to improve sleep.

These exclusive therapies utilise cupping techniques that rejuvenate skin, enhance circulation and expel toxins without leaving marks on the face or body.

Plus, if you book any treatments at the Four Seasons Pearl Spa before the end of August, you’ll also receive a complimentary 15-minute Bellabaci enhancement.

Guided Meditation Sessions:

Enjoy a 14 or 21 guided meditation challenge with Dina Ghandour via zoom on Sunday, 25 July. I have been following Dina’s journey during the pandemic and her wellness tips and posts have helped me.

Dina is a yoga teacher, energy healer and meditation coach who will be guiding you step by step. This is your chance to create a lasting habit by committing to just 20 minutes a day for up to three weeks, all from the comfort of your own home.

The mediation is ideal for those seeking more calm from the chaos of life, relieving anxiety if you want to feel more energised and aligned, and for improved sleeping.

The guided meditation is great for beginners or seasoned sitters seeking community and collective energy.

Start planning your next Wellbeing Retreat:

I am so big on retreats and the good news is, the UAE wants to become a leading wellbeing retreat hub. Each retreat has a different theme and it helps me be mindful of my health and promotes a sense of community with like-minded people. They recently held a wellness retreat at Jumeirah Al Qasr and it was a great turnout.

Led by clinical hypnotherapist Rachel Dowes and international life coach Sophia Bakkal, challenging you to reclaim and revitalise your life.

Ideal for the whole family or individuals, the retreats feature activities such as sunrise beach yoga, mindfulness, meditation, capoeira and Zumba.

Start a Sound Healing course:

I love sound healing. It instantly destresses and helps me to focus on my breath and this fantastic opportunity allows you to learn to play sound healing bowls with a 20-hour sound immersion course.

Some of the topics covered include chakras, sound waves, brain waves, and the history and origin of singing bowls. You will be fully immersed in the practical side of playing the bowls, positioning on or around the body, and using the bowls to serve someone’s healing.

The next course runs from August 13 to August 20 2021.

Face Fitness with Nigora:

Kundalini yoga instructor Nigora will personally coach you one-on-one and also holds monthly marathons teaching a new technique for your face such as a lift massage, hot spoon massage and facial exercises.

I have been a big fan of face fitness for many years and integrate it into my daily routine. I also use a tool to complement my facial exercises, whether a gausha or face roller from Knesko Skin or cryo globes from 111SKIN Nuface trinity.

The only thing you need is your hands and 15-minutes of your time every day. So start every day at 9am, change your routine, and begin your day by working on a natural glow effect. It’s deeply relaxing and brings awareness to our facial expressions and it’s truly eye-opening.

The Heavenly Spa at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina:

The hotel has launched a fantastic offer for the girls this summer, including spa, pool, and a healthy lunch.

I am obsessed with experiences and trying new treatments in the spas and this is a great way to enjoy a daycation or a girly day out with my besties. The “For the Girls” package includes a 60-minute Swedish massage, pool and beach access, alongside lunch at the Instagrammable Bounty Beets for only AED 460 per person.
