Jeddah’s mocktail movement gains momentum with Lyre’s

These crafted drinks are guaranteed to ignite a buzz without the booze.

Saudi Arabia is pulling out all the stops to establish itself as the ultimate tourist hub. With NEOM, the Red Sea Project, Riyadh Season, and several other ventures, the Kingdom is evolving and embracing new experiences. But this evolution isn’t limited to development and entertainment, it’s happening across the culinary scene too. Within this landscape, Lyres, the non-alcoholic spirits brand, is shaking things up in Jeddah’s mixology scene.

The Red Sea city has long been known as the most laid-back city in Saudi Arabia. Now, it’s leading the charge in redefining the mocktail scene, proving that great drinks don’t need alcohol to make a statement.

Lyre’s is helping bartenders with the ingredients they need to craft complex and layered flavours that’ll make their drinks stand out. Doing this will help them reimagine the classic “mocktail” into something that’s just as sophisticated as any cocktail. This will also enable bartenders to showcase their creativity and cater to guests who value taste and experience over alcohol content.

Options include the Red Sea Colada at Alieia by the Sea, a twist on the pina colada made with white cane lyres, fresh coconut, cream, and pineapple. The Make A Wish mocktail at Siddharta Lounge features a flavoured bubble to burst before exploring a beguilling blend of Lyre’s white cane that interplays with a tropical Blend to offer a nutty aftertaste. Finally, the Namiki Garden mocktail at MYAZŪ Jeddah captures the essence of autumn and all its amber shades by combining the smooth profile of Lyre’s American Malt with flavours of contemporary Japanese cuisine.

“There’s a great blend of local and international mixologists doing amazing work,” shared Lyre’s regional vice president, Karl Fielding. “They are blazing a trail and will create a legacy for years to come in Jeddah.”

Top-tier dining venues around Jeddah are embracing Lyre’s, taking the city’s non-alcoholic drink options to a whole new level. Restaurants like Alieia by the Sea, Myazu, Zilos, Memento, and Siddharta Lounge are turning up the heat with their drinks. A standout creation crafted using Lyre’s is the Smoky Malt at ROKA Jeddah, which promises a taste of sour whiskey without the addition of alcohol.

With Lyre’s at the helm, Jeddah’s mixology scene sets a standard for what non-alcoholic drinks can be in Saudi Arabia. So if you’re a local who’s looking for a more sophisticated beverage or someone visiting who’d like to know what all the buzz is about, give one of these Lyre’s drinks a shot.
