SPONSORED: Acclaimed Chef Jitin Joshi will also be on hand the celebrate the re-opening.

Rangoli, the stylish restaurant serving North and South Indian cuisine at Yas Island Rotana, has revealed a brand new look following extensive refurbishment. The restaurant, which initially opened in 2010, will usher in a new era imbued with a youthful energy and daring design to match the flavoursome dishes prepared fresh in the Tandoor oven.

To celebrate the new opening, acclaimed chef Jitin Joshi (of Michelin awarded Benares and Gymkhana) will collaborate with Rangoli’s Chef De Cuisine Shadab Qureshi for an exclusive four-hands menu.

Chef Jitin and Chef Qureshi’s special five-course degustation menu will present North and South Indian cuisine with a surprising twist. It features puffed wild rice bhel, watermelon with papad feta, and masala peanut to begin. The following courses include artichoke and sweet potato chaat, followed by a choice between cured salmon or spiced avocado with split coconut emulsion and pickled mooli.

The night will continue with a selection of mains, including charred lamb chops, 12-hour wagyu rib, curry leaf mackerel and grilled portobello. The exciting evening culminates on a sweet note with gulab jamun brioche pudding and rasmalai custard with chikki ice cream. This Chef’s Table experience is available until Saturday 21 May, from 6pm. AED 249 per person.

Aside from the culinary extravaganza, the restaurant’s new look blends tradition with contemporary design, welcoming guests with a giant urli featuring a floating flower to impart a royal glow at the restaurant’s centre. For those looking for an Insta-worthy snap, there’s a picturesque swing and Indian pop-art adorning the walls. The colour purple dominates the velvety new interiors, which are divided into six areas including the Rang-e-bahar and Rang-e-khass for private dining, the Rang-e-mehfil for family dining, the Rang-e-mehal for fine dining, the shisha Verandah and the Rang-e-star for al fresco poolside dining.
