Dubai, known for its towering skyscrapers and lavish lifestyle is once again gearing up to make headlines. This time in the world of sports. Taking place from 25 February to 10 March, the World Skateboarding Tour is making its debut in the city and Dubai Harbour will transform into a battleground for some of the world’s most talented skateboarders.
With the 2024 Paris Olympics on the horizon, this World Skateboarding Tour stop in Dubai holds significant weight as it serves as the final opportunity for skaters to secure their spots in the games. The event is set to welcome over 500 world-class professionals from around the globe, some of whom have already touched down in Dubai.
The schedule is jam-packed with adrenaline-pumping action. The Park Pro Tour Stop kicks off the festivities from 25 February to 3 March, followed by the Street Pro Tour Stop from 3 to 10 March. Both competitions will take place at the purpose-built Championship Class Street and Park arenas within Dubai Harbour.
Designed to meet World Skate standards, the courses offer a plethora of obstacles catering to various styles. The Street course boasts a myriad of rails, ledges, and gaps, including a mesmerising “best trick” section where the skaters can unleash their jaw-dropping manoeuvres. Meanwhile, the Park course features a bowled corner, jump box, and vert wall, providing ample opportunities for aerial tricks.
But the World Skateboarding Tour is not just about the competition, it’s about putting Dubai on the global sporting map. With its track record of hosting prestigious events, Dubai continues to solidify its position as a premier destination for sports tourism.
