The Mobility and Terra Pavilions and Garden in the Sky will be the first sights to reopen.

If you’ve been missing Expo Dubai 2020, you’ll be thrilled to hear that Expo City Dubai is opening soon. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has given the project the royal go ahead, which means that some of the much-loved pavilions are back.

The first phase of the legacy site, Expo City Dubai, will reopen from 1 September, and the full reopening takes place on 1 October. So while you won’t be able to get your passports stamped, you can revisit famous sights.

The first areas to reopen include Alif The Mobility Pavilion, which explores how mobility transforms our lives, Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion, which shares environmentally-friendly options for the future, and Garden in the Sky with 360-degree views.

Expo fans will be pleased to hear that many of the popular sights are returning from 1 October. The areas include the Women’s Pavilion, Vision Pavilion, Al Wasl Plaza and the Surreal water feature. Plus, the children’s playgrounds and carousel will be back.

The Opportunity Pavilion will be transformed into the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum, which tells the story of this monumental event that took place six months ago. An Expo Schools Programme will create workshops and educational experiences for children.

Mobility and Terra will be open from 10am to 6pm, while Garden in the Sky is open from 3pm to 6pm, and will have longer opening hours from 16 September from 10am to 6pm. Tickets for Mobility and Terra cost AED 50, and tickets for Garden in the Sky cost AED 30. Children under the age of 12 and people of determination can visit for free.
