Here’s what to expect from the second stage of the development.
For the people who say that the UAE lacks nature, we present to you Hatta. The mountainous natural beauty has always been great for an adventurous day (or stay), and it is about to get more thrilling as stage one of the project has been completed, and it’s now time for stage two.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has approved Hatta’s second phase of developments. The development includes a whopping 22 projects and initiatives.
Hatta will be home to brand-new sites, path and tracks. The new site includes Hatta Beach, Hatta Waterfalls, Wadi Lim Lake and a residential district. The new paths include hiking and cycling tracks as well as a mountain bike route. Plus, new transportation routes include a cable car, mountain tramway, and public transport stand.

Hatta Beach aims to turn the destination into an all-season tourist spot. The waterfront will boast a variety of activities and amenities. Hatta Waterfalls will be constructed in Hatta Dam. Plus, the regeneration of Wadi Lim Lake will include seasonal kiosks, food carts and facilities, from walkways to rest areas.
Hatta is popular for its hiking routes, and it will now be home to many more. A cycling track linking key sites and a 11.5-kilometre mountain bike trail are under construction. Plus, a 5.4-kilometre-long cable car is being created, which will run from the dam to the top of Umm Al Nusour (aka Dubai’s highest peak).

So far, accommodation ranges from the long-established JA Hatta Fort to its newly opened Terra Cabins. Visitors will soon have more choice when it comes to where to stay, as hotels and health resorts are in the works.
Upon completion, Hatta aims to get the UNESCO World Heritage Site seal of approval. The landscape is home to historical sites that would excite Indiana Jones, as there are tombs dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages.
Get ready for adventure.
