Dining, shopping and family-friendly attractions are coming to Sharjah.
The UAE loves a megaproject, whether it’s grand hotels or new rail lines, there is always an ambitious development in the works. Now, Sharjah will be home to the latest megaproject, Kalba waterfront project. Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) are behind the AED 199 million project, which is scheduled to open in Sharjah’s Eastern Region before the end of the year.
HE Ahmer Obaid Al Qaseer, Acting CEO of Shurooq, revealed the details of the Kalba waterfront project. Boasting a contemporary architectural design, it aims to create an exciting new destination for guests and residents.
Kalba waterfront project will be the largest retail and the first inclusive waterfront destination in Kalba. Spanning 183,000 square meters, it will include shopping, entertainment and tourist experiences.
Foodies will be excited to hear that there are 80 units covering indoor and outdoor dining venues. Visitors can enjoy food with a view, as the promenade will be lined with a lagoon. The area also includes mangroves and will be a tranquil area to relax.
Kalba waterfront project includes activities for the family, as there will be a 1,600 square meter play area with trampolines, skating tracks, rope walking, wall climbing, video games, simulators and a free-fall platform.
Kalba waterfront project is being developed by Eagle Hills Sharjah Development, a joint venture between Shurooq and Eagle Hills. The project is almost complete and undergoing the final touches. Plus, the developers have shared that there are a few investment opportunities still available.
Low Ping CEO of Eagle Hills, added: “Eagle Hills is fully committed to developing a unique leisure and shopping destination in Kalba, Sharjah through an innovative retail concept offering advanced shopping facilities complemented with a variety of outdoor experiences. Our latest agreement with MJM is an important milestone to realizing this one-of-a-kind development, in line with our commitment to supporting Sharjah’s growing tourism and leisure sector.”
