British Airways revives route to Jeddah on the Red Sea

The carrier will be operating four flights per week between Jeddah and London.

Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom both boast rich histories and landscapes. Lately, there’s been a growing eagerness to discover each kingdom’s treasures. To fuel this mutual curiosity, British Airways has announced plans to resume operations to Jeddah on the Red Sea coast.

Scheduled to kick off on 4 November, the year-round service resumes after a five-year hiatus and will operate four times a week, linking Jeddah with British Airways’ hub at London Heathrow. Flights will take off every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 7.55am from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport, and at 8.10pm from London Heathrow Airport.

To celebrate the relaunch of the Jeddah route, British Airways is rolling out exclusive return fares starting from SAR 1,905 for Economy Class and SAR 16,079 for Business Class. However, this rate is only available if you book before 5 June 2024.

The decision to resume operations between London and Jeddah isn’t just about making travel between the two cultural hubs easier. It’s also about strengthening ties between the UK and Saudi Arabia.

The airline’s return to Jeddah is part of a broader strategy to expand its presence in the GCC. It currently links London to Riyadh, and just last month, the airline resumed operations between London and Abu Dhabi after a four-year hiatus.

With the resumption of flights from the UK to Jeddah and Abu Dhabi, British Airways is proving that it’s keen to promote travel and cultural exchange between the nations.
