More quarantine-free summer holiday destinations are headed your way.
Hot on the heels of the announcement that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will be flying to Moldova from September. The UAE’s newest national airline has added the Greek islands of Mykonos, Rhodes and Crete to their summer flight roster.
The new Greek destinations will offer travellers a myriad of experiences, such as secluded white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, buzzing nightlife and a wealth of historical sites. The announcement aligns with the UAE’s newly established travel corridor with Greece.
Flights to Mykonos will operate twice per week on Wednesdays and Sundays, from 7 July. Flights to Crete will begin on 9 July and Rhodes on 12 July, with twice-weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays.
UAE passengers can fly into Greece without needing to quarantine on arrival. They must provide a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before arrival or hold a vaccination certificate in English issued by a public authority, including the passenger’s full name, the type of vaccine, and the number of doses taken with their respective dates. The vaccination needs to have been completed at least 14 days before arrival in Greece. Travellers must also complete a Passenger Locator Form before arriving at the airport.
When returning to Abu Dhabi, UAE residents and citizens who have been vaccinated for at least 28 days and have received a vaccine report on the Alhosn app, will be able to fly into the UAE from Greece without having to follow quarantine restrictions. Passengers will have to take a PCR test 72 hours before departure, alongside taking another free of charge PCR test on arrival at Abu Dhabi airport and another on the sixth day after arriving. Children 12 years of age and younger are exempted.
Tickets for the new destinations are on sale from today via both wizzair.com and the airline’s mobile app, with fares from just AED 179.
