Dubai’s first homegrown New England brasserie will launch an outpost in Ibiza in June.
Summer will see the arrival of The MAINE’s newest international location — meet The MAINE Ibiza. Opening at the beginning of June, the new restaurant will take over a carefully restored 18th-century finca by the small church of Sant Francesc de S’Estany, a short drive from Ibiza Town. It will feature alfresco dining split across two levels and accommodating up to 200 people. It’s yet another concept launched by Canadian restaurateur Joey Ghazal, who has developed dozens of popular restaurant and bar concepts in Montreal, Beirut, London and Dubai.
The MAINE Ibiza is ideally located by the picturesque salt flats of Salinas, a UNESCO world heritage site, en route to the famous Es Cubells and Platja des Cavallet. Designed by Ghazal himself, the 18th-century parish has been restored to feature vintage Spanish colonial pieces sourced from mainland Spain, amongst a beautifully curated garden. There are nods to brutalist architecture with traditional ‘Marbella bar stools’, contrasted with charming architectural imperfections, giving it an authentic Ibizenko feel. With a mezzanine-style rooftop overlooking the ground floor restaurant, every space has been designed to entertain into the early hours.
The property will feature a prominent bar area focused on elevated mixology, a generous bar bites menu, and an impressive selection of premium tequilas and mezcals. The family-style menu at The MAINE Ibiza boasts a selection of its most popular dishes, with added Mediterranean flavour running throughout. Guests will enjoy a thoughtful entertainment programme, with different DJs from the island, as well as live performances. With Ibiza Town just a short drive away, the venue’s prime location will lure guests looking for a spot to dine or drink before clubbing.
The MAINE Ibiza will also be open throughout the day, offering a blackboard menu of healthy bowls, vegetarian and vegan options, and Mediterranean market platters using locally sourced produce. Referred to as Casa M, this casual spot will be the ideal place to enjoy a healthy bite or a fresh-pressed juice before heading to one of the island’s most popular beaches.
Online bookings for June 2023 will be live from mid-May 2023.
