Cinema Space returns to Abu Dhabi with free cinema screenings
Enjoy three nights of classic films at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
If you enjoy a night at the movies, you’ll love this event for cinephiles in the capital. Cinema Space is making its grand return to Abu Dhabi, celebrating a decade of screening classic films in the city.
Cinema Space started in 2014 as an independent initiative to bring classics and contemporary world cinema to Abu Dhabi. Through community screenings, it aims to build and nourish a passion for cinema in the region.
The best thing about Cinema Space is that it’s completely free. However, you must RSVP online and register in advance to secure your spot. This year, the screenings will be held at Manarat Al Saadiyat. They will take place from 30 May to 3 June, and the lineup promises a diverse range of films.
Stop Making Sense
Directed by Jonathan Demme, this 1984 American concert film features the iconic rock band Talking Heads. Shot over four nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre, it showcases performances of hits like Psycho Killer and Burning Down the House. With a budget raised by the band, the film is celebrated as one of the greatest concert films of all time. Catch this classic on Thursday, 30 May at 7.30pm.
Sabrina
Celebrate the 70th anniversary of this romantic comedy-drama directed by Billy Wilder. Starring Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, and William Holden, Sabrina tells the story of a love triangle involving a chauffeur’s daughter and two wealthy brothers. This classic is a must-see for fans of old Hollywood glamour and timeless romance. Watch this movie on Sunday, 2 June at 3pm.
Surprise Screening
For those who love a bit of mystery, this one’s for you. The title of the movie will be kept under wraps until the moment it starts, adding an element of surprise to your cinematic experience. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it. This surprise will be screened on Monday, 3 June at 7.30pm.
