Elf The Musical: Catch the cult classic at Etihad Arena this winter

Do you know where the lines “there’s room for everyone on the nice list”, and “I just like to smile, smiling’s my favourite” are from? Well, if you answered the film Elf, then you’re correct. Plus, you’ll be pleased to hear that Elf The Musical is singing and dancing its way to Dubai.
During the festive season, you can catch Elf The Musical at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi Taking place from 14 to 15 December, it promises to be a fun-filled 80-minute show for all the family.
Elf The Musical is based on the film Elf, and the live show was created in 2010. The Oliver Award-winning musical started life on New York’s Broadway, and toured the world including London’s West End. Plus, it was one of the fastest-selling shows at London’s Dominion Theatre.
We expect Elf The Musical to be a fun night out, especially since the song list has titles ranging from Sparklejollytwinklejingley to Nobody Cares About Santa. It will feel like Christmas in the capital, as the stage will bring to life the streets of New York in the winter and the magic of the North Pole. Produced by Jon Conway, it will star Jordan Conway, who will step into the big floppy shoes of Will Ferrell.
With an original score of fantastic songs by Matt Sklar and Chad Beguelin that have delighted audiences on Broadway and the West End, prepare for an exciting candy cane journey from the North Pole, featuring impressive video-film backdrops, Santa’s flying sleigh and a fun audience snowball fight.
For those who are unfamiliar with the 2003 film, it is a modern-day Christmas story, which has earned its place as a cult favourite. Starring Will Ferrell as the innocent but lovable Buddy, we follow his journey from the North Pole to New York as he tries to find his biological father. The film also stars Zooey Deschanel and James Caan, and was directed by Jon Favreau.
So, get into the festive spirit and follow Buddy’s advice: “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”
