Comic book fans, we have some colourful news. The Emirati Comics Exhibition is heading to Manarat Al Saadiyat Terrace, Abu Dhabi. Running until 12 October, the exhibition showcases the work of 21 Emirati artists and has local stories at its heart.
The Emirati Comics Exhibition offers a look into the comic book world in the region. The comics bring to life local culture as well as local characters. The stories include props and landscapes, which the communities would recognise, as well as global influences.
Emirati Comics Exhibition also includes a programme of workshops, talks, and stalls with products created by the illustrators. The workshops include Create Your Own Manga, How to Create a Zine, Fundamentals of the Craft, How to Draw Chibi, and The Basics of Drawing Everything. Best of all, they are free to attend.
The artists taking part in the exhibition including Abdulla Mohammed Alsharhan Alnuaimi, Abdulla Zayed Almansoori, Ali Kashwani, Alia Alkaabi, Ashjan Abdulwahad AlSinani, Asma Al Remeithi, Asma Mohammed Alshehhi, Aysha Saif Al Hamrani, Bashayer Esam Ahmed, Hamda Saad, Iman AlMessabi, Eissa Alnuaimi, Khaled Salem Aljaberi, Khalid Mezaina, Maha Almheiri, Maryah Al-Rashed, Mohammed Alshaibani, Sono Moza, Nadia Alghaithi, Sahar Al Hajri, and Sumaia Alamoodi.
Manarat Al Saadiyat Terrace is home to arts, culture and community events. The destination is a hub for creativity, and has previously hosted exhibitions from local artists and diverse public programmes. Plus, it has hosted art fairs, panel discussions and educational initiatives.
