The trailblazing DJ will perform beneath the museum’s iconic dome.
Music and art combine as the DJ and record producer Black Coffee has announced that he is performing at the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The special show is part of the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Masquerave festival and will take place on Saturday, 15 February 2025.
Black Coffee is no stranger to the Middle East. The South African DJ and producer is celebrated for his unique fusion of house music with soulful elements, African rhythms, organic electronics, jazz influences, and evocative vocals, which has earned his signature style the name “Afropolitan House.”
The superstar DJ has collaborated with global superstars such as Alicia Keys, Drake, Pharrell Williams, and David Guetta. This DJ’s discography boasts successful albums and chart-topping singles. He has also won a Grammy Award and the Best International DJ award at the 2015 BET Awards and has consistently been a presence on the prestigious Top 100 DJs list.
But what is a Masquerave? Revellers at the Louvre Abu Dhabi will party beneath the iconic dome while celebrating the rhythm, power, and legacy inspired by the museum’s latest exhibition, Kings and Queens of Africa: Forms and Figures of Power.
Located in the cultural district on Saadiyat Island, the Louvre Abu Dhabi takes a different museographic approach and displays its pieces chronologically. More than just a museum, the building itself is an attraction. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, its latticed dome creates the striking ‘rain of light’ effect while the flooded sea walls add to the ambience of this artistic marvel.
