British comedian Ben Elton to make his Abu Dhabi debut

The comic is bringing his show, Authentic Stupidity to the UAE.

Abu Dhabi has plenty of events in store this season. With the Backstreet Boys returning to the capital and Afterlife Festival making its regional debut, the capital is showing no signs of slowing down. And now, a performance from Ben Elton in Abu Dhabi has been added to the roaster of live entertainment.

Taking place on Saturday, 7 December, the British comedian bringing his brand-new live show, Authentic Stupidity, to Abu Dhabi for the very first time. Promising an evening of side-splitting humour, Ben Elton will showcase his satirical observations to the audience. With hilarious storytelling and his signature brand of social commentary, you can expect laughs galore throughout the evening. And if his 2019 sold-out show in the United Kingdom is anything to go by, this stand-up is expected to sell out fast as well.

Ben Elton is a force to be reckoned with in the comedy world. Born in London in 1959, he burst into the scene in the 80s, quickly establishing himself as one of the UK’s most innovative comedic voices. With a career spanning decades, he’s best known for penning the scripts for some of Britain’s most beloved sitcoms, including Blackadder and The Young Ones. In addition to his work in television and theatre, he has enjoyed success as an author, with 16 novels under his belt, several of which have become bestsellers. One of his most acclaimed novels is Popcorn, a dystopian satire that explores the consequences of a society obsessed with entertainment and celebrity culture.

In addition to his comedic endeavours, Ben Elton has made significant contributions to the world of musical theatre. He has written the lyrics for several successful musicals, including We Will Rock You and Love Never Dies, a sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.

In 2019, Ben Elton returned to the stage proving that his comedic brilliance is still as spot-on as ever. And now, Abu Dhabi is about to get a taste of it.
