Nineties kids, unite – this is going to be larger than life.
Backstreet’s back. One of the biggest-selling boybands of all time is returning to the capital. The American pop group Backstreet Boys will perform at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, 23 October. Here’s what to expect from the fabulous fivesome.
Nineties kids will be buzzing with excitement, as this is your chance to see Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean and Brian Littrell. Unfortunately, fan-favourite Kevin Richardson will be absent from the show due to scheduling conflicts. The group formed in Orlando, Florida, in the early nineties. Following the release of their first album Backstreet Boys in 1996, they went on to top the charts and capture the hearts of the BSM Army.
We’re expecting them to play their greatest hits including We’ve Got It Goin’ On, Quit Playing Games (With My Heart), Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) and As Long As You Love Me. Plus, the classic I Want It That Way has been streamed more than one billion times on Spotify. However, we’re told that Kevin Richardson will be absent due to scheduling conflicts, leaving Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and Brian Littrell to deliver a complete Backstreet Boys experience.
For nearly three decades, the Backstreet Boys have dominated the pop music scene, establishing themselves as one of the most influential pop acts in history. With countless #1 hits, record-breaking tours, numerous awards, and over 130 million records sold worldwide, they hold the title of the best-selling boy band in history.
Backstreet Boys are no strangers to the Middle East. In May 2023, they brought their DNA World Tour to Abu Dhabi and performed at the F1 Concert Zone in Jeddah the same month. The band also came to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre in 2018 as part of the Blended Music Festival.
Following the overwhelming success of their previous visit to the capital, which became the quickest-selling arena show in the UAE, the global icons of pop are set to perform once again.
