Get ready to witness 119 days of culture and heritage.
The highly anticipated Sheikh Zayed Festival is coming back this winter. Taking place from 1 November 2024 to 28 February March 2025, the festival will have many events and performances, promising an extravaganza of entertainment and cultural experiences. That means 119 days of pure fun in the heart of Al Wathba.
This year’s agenda is all about celebrating “Hayakum” (meaning “Welcome” in Arabic), connecting generations, and celebrating the region’s rich history and hospitality. The program has been developed to ensure distinctive and diverse activities and adventures that’ll make this festival the talk of the capital.
This year, the Sheikh Zayed Festival will host a Union Parade on the UAE National Day, reflecting the people’s sense of belonging and loyalty to the country. But that’s not all because the UAE National Day Celebrations will take over the entire site with tons of festivities. We’re talking special shows, performances at the Heritage Village, folk art magic, musical beats, fireworks, drone shows and a whole lot more.
For the first time, the festival will feature seven weekly mini-festivals, each with its own unique theme, from National Day parades and fireworks to a dedicated food and dessert festival.
With over 6,000 cultural events and performances from around the world and more than 30,000 exhibitors displaying crafts and products, this year’s festival promises a truly global celebration, whether you’re wandering through the heritage village or enjoying traditional performances from over 27 countries.
Families are in for a real treat with a variety of child-friendly activities. The Children’s Festival will captivate young ones with their favourite cartoon characters, interactive workshops, and lively stage performances.
For thrill-seekers, the brand-new Theme Park features virtual reality rides, adventure zones, and even a spooky Haunted House for the brave at heart.
From authentic Emirati dishes to international favourites, there’s something to please every palate. The event also includes a honey exhibition and a date festival, offering the chance to explore and purchase some of the UAE’s finest local produce.
And the best part is that entry to the festival costs AED 10. So grab your loved ones and get ready to paint the town with fun at the Sheikh Zayed Festival 2024.
