Here’s all you need to know before you make your way to the capital.
It’s happening. Coldplay is heading to Abu Dhabi for their Music of the Spheres World Tour, and excitement is at an all-time high. As the band’s only GCC stop on this world tour, it’s your chance to see Coldplay live. And if you were one of the lucky ones to grab a ticket for the sold-out shows on 9, 11, 12 or 14 January, at the Zayed Sports City Stadium, we’ve got all the info you need to make your Coldplay concert in Abu Dhabi experience unforgettable.
How do I get to the venue?
The Coldplay concert in Abu Dhabi will not have any parking at the venue or even surrounding areas. However, free shuttle services will be in operation to make arrival and departure at Zayed Sports City Stadium easier. If you’re heading to the concert from Dubai, make your way to Expo City Dubai. Buses will transport attendees from the spot starting at 12.50pm on a 90-minute ride. The last bus back to Dubai from Abu Dhabi will depart at 1am.
If you’re making your way from Abu Dhabi, you can hop on buses from Al Shahama, Al Raha, Nation Towers and Sas Al Nakhl, starting at 1.57pm. Like Dubai, the last buses from the venue will also depart at 1am.
When do gates open?
Doors open early to give fans ample time to enjoy the pre-show activities. The fan zones will open at 3pm, and general entry to the stadium will begin at 5pm.
Who can attend the concert?
The Coldplay concert is family-friendly but comes with some restrictions. Children under the age of five will not be allowed, and those under 14 will need to be accompanied by an adult over 21 years of age. Additionally, children under 14 will not be permitted in the pitch-standing area.
To ensure smooth entry, download your ticket and save it on your mobile device via Ticketmaster. Scannable tickets will be available 72 hours before the event, and entry is only allowed through the gate listed on your ticket. Arrive early to ensure you’re inside before the 8.30pm cutoff.
Performances
The evening will kick off at 6pm with French hip-hop artist Shone. Known for his raw and impactful lyrics, he will set the stage for a great evening ahead. At 6.30pm, Palestinian singer Elyanna will wow the crowd with her fusion of Arabic melodies and pop tunes. And lastly, at 7.45pm, Coldplay will take to the stage singing their chart-topping hits like Fix You, The Scientist and Yellow.
Food and water
The concert will feature various food and beverage stalls catering to diverse tastes. In line with Coldplay’s commitment to sustainability, attendees are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle (no larger than 750 ml). Free water stations will be available at the venue to keep you hydrated.
Additional guidelines
Make sure you travel light, as bags bigger than an A4 sheet will not be allowed inside the venue. Zayed Sports City Stadium is a cashless venue, so ensure that you have a debit or credit card or your Apple Pay and GPay handy.
